Jock started geocaching seriously in 2013 (currently has 3000+ finds). In October 2015, he took over hosting an Edmonton
tradition – monthly dinner event at Fargos Restaurant.
Jock’s expertise in governance started in 1990 when he took over as Chair of the Group Committee of his Scout Group. Since
then he has been (in no particular order):
- Scouting District President
- Scouting Council Vice President
- Scouting Area Commissioner
- Inaugural Governance Committee Chair for the Fort McMurray Airport Authority
- President of Fort McMurray branch of AGS
- Vice President Finance of Alberta Genealogical Society (AGS)
- President of AGS
- Vice President of GEAA (responsible for Bylaws & Policies)
Jock especially enjoys hunting/finding geocaches, the camaraderie of the growing community, helping newbie cachers one-
on-one, and outreach work.
